The former Monterey Bay Area Council No. 25 in Salinas, California, has merged with the former Santa Clara County Council No. 55 in San Jose, California, to form the new Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, No. 55, headquartered in San Jose.
The effective date of this consolidation, as recorded with the state of California, was Jan. 1. Jason Stein, Scout executive of the former Santa Clara County Council, will serve as the Scout executive for the new Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council.
The merger team is actively engaged in updating the BSA’s data systems (ScoutNET, MyBSA, MyScouting, etc.) and expects to complete their work by Monday, Jan. 28.
